on how Divers can help the environment by participating in Reef Ball
projects.
3) Desarollos Hoteleros in Guatemala is ordering a set of Reef Ball molds
to complete a submerged breakwater to protect the Hotel’s beach. By
changing strategies from a traditional above water breakwater to a
submerged breakwater the water flow around the beach can be maintained to
preserve higher water quality. The molds will be donated to the
non-profit Organization for Land and Sea after the project to create
additional Reef Ball reefs in areas needed for ecological restoration,
traditional fisheries and diving locations.
