1) The Reef Ball Coalition won the prestigous Innovision Award developed
through the joint efforts of Deloitte & Touche and IKON Technology this
award honors, "forward-thinking companines that use, produce or promote
technology based ideas and solutions for the new millennium." We think it
is ironic that Reef Balls, a product made only of concrete, has won in the
high technology category in today's age of computers! Congratulations to
the Reef Ball Coalition (www.reefballcoalition.org).
2) The Reef Ball Foundation will donate a Reef Ball to Mote Marine to aid
in the rehab of an approximately 300 pound loggerhead turtle who is
recovering from a cracked undershell which was broken when she fell off a
cement embankment as she was attempting to nest. Mote has been searching
for something to enrich her environment somewhat
more and they have selected a Reef Ball.
3)In news from the Dominican Republic, EMPACA is getting ready to
undertake the Ecotourism part of the Reef Ball program to be implemented
on some Beach Hotels in the D.R.
4) Neptune Resources, a Reef Ball authorized representative, is planning
another trip to the Phillipines to continue work toward the proposed
1,000,000 Reef Ball project in late November.
5) Reef Ball is hosting a management team from The Living Classroom
Foundation on the 13-15th followed by a visit to Provo in the Turks and
Cacicos with the Reef Ball Coalition to finalize a formal relationship to
send students on Reef Ball learning trips with the Reef Ball Coalition.
Have a good day!
