Message #112
1) More than one person noticed our excessive typos on yesterday's update.
I thought my reply might be helpful to all. --Todd Barber
"I must apologize for the typing errors on the "Reef Ball Updates" and I
recognize that they are all too frequent. I write all of the updates
personally and often from the road on strange (or foreign) keyboards.
Unfortunately, the Internet software we use (called listbot) is a web
application without spell checking or grammar checking and often the
office staff does not have the opportunity to check my work. Because
Internet time when traveling is often limited or expensive, I have tended
to spend the limited time getting the message out rather than checking my
work. I have found that when I wait to get the updates out, people
sometimes miss opportunities to participate or contribute to Reef Ball
projects which is worse to me than the embarrassment of typing errors.
However, this is not a good excuse, and your point is well taken. We will
do our best in the future to be more careful in protecting our
professional image. (As well as the example we set).
Thanks for your valuable input.
