PVC pipes were embedded in the Reef Balls so that fiberglass rebar anchors could be used to attach these breakwater units to the seafloor.

Here's how the PVC pipe is cast into the Reef Balls. It is cut off at the concrete level before removing the mold shells.

We placed an 8" concrete brick into the bottom of the molds to add an extra 12 inches of solid concrete to the bottom of the Reef Balls for extra stability.

These hoses are used to attach scuba tanks to underwater drills so we can drill the holes for the fiberglass rebar anchors.

Here is the inside of a mold set up for casting with the brick, sand on the bottom to make a lobster hole going to the brick and all the side balls in place.

We took measurements of the hole sizes to make final adjustments before we went into large scale production
